I am personally NOT a fan of scrambled eggs, or omelettes, but I LOVE me some deviled eggs! The key to a southern deviled egg is adding sweet cubes to the filling. Deviled eggs are a great appetizer for any occasion! See below on how to make the perfect southern deviled egg.
Ingredients to Make Southern Deviled Eggs
6 eggs
2 tablespoons of Mayo - I use Duke's (the mayo of the South)
1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (depends on how tangy you like it)
2 tablespoons of sweet salad cubes - I use the Mt. Olive brand
1 teaspoon of yellow mustard
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions to Make Southern Deviled Eggs
Boil eggs for 15 mins and then place them in an ice bath.
Remove shell and halve the eggs lengthwise. Remove yolks and place in a small bowl.
Mash yolks with a fork and stir in the mayo, sweet cubes, mustard and apple cider vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Fill eggs evenly with yolk mixture.
Garnish with paprika.
Chill for about two hours and enjoy!
