Grilled King Crab Legs

For the first time since I can remember, my family didn’t have a 4th of July cookout. Due to the coronavirus, we opted to not have people over in order to keep our family safe and the families of our friends. So since we didn’t have to buy for a lot of people, we purchased a few king crab legs to throw on the grill for the 4th. Shoutout to Costco for the amazing king crab legs. The crab legs turned out amazing! Here’s how to make them on your grill!

King Crab Legs

Garlic Butter for Basting

2 sticks of butter

1 onion, finely diced

4 tablespoons of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon of old bay

1 tablespoon garlic powder

Dipping Sauce for the Crab Legs

1 small onion, finely diced

2 tablespoons of garlic minced

2 sticks of butter

1 tablespoon of old bay

1 tablespoon of paprika

1/2 tablespoon of Cayenne

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

  1. Thaw and then wash your crab legs.

  2. Once your crab legs are thawed, use kitchen shears to cut the legs down the middle. Start at the top and cut to the mid-section.

  3. To make the garlic butter for basting, melt two sticks of butter in the microwave and add the diced onion and garlic and the seasonings until combined.

  4. Place the crab legs on the grill and baste with the garlic butter.

  5. To make your dipping sauce, melt two sticks of butter on the stove and add the minced onion and garlic. Cook until the onions and garlic are translucent. Add the seasonings and simmer for 5 min to 10 mins.

  6. Crack your crabs and dip the meat in the dipping sauce and enjoy!
