Costco’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie-Copycat Recipe


Thanks to Tik Tok, I was made aware that Costco has a 5 pound peanut butter chocolate pie that was going viral so I decided to make it. I absolutely love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter so you didn't have to twist my arm to recreate this dessert. This pie does take time to make because you have to chill the chocolate mousse layer for about two hours. Once you assemble the pie, its best to chill the pie overnight so it sets properly. I promise you it is worth the wait!

Ingredients Need to Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie


Graham Crust:

  • 2 cup of graham cracker crumbs

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1 stick salted butter, melted

Peanut Butter Layer:

  • 8 oz of whipped cream cheese

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

  • 3/4 cup of peanut butter

  • 1 cup of powdered sugar

  • 1 cup of heavy cream

  • 5 tablespoons of instant white chocolate pudding mix

Chocolate Mousse Layer:

  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 2 cups of heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

  • 3 tablespoons of instant white chocolate pudding mix

Directions to Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie


For the crust:

  1. Combine graham crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press crust evenly into pie plate, building up an edge around the sides. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Cool completely.

For Peanut Butter Layer:

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together whipped cream cheese and vanilla. Mix in peanut butter. Add powdered sugar and mix together well. Add heavy cream. Beat until mixture thickens slightly, about 1 to 2 minutes. Add instant pudding mix and mix well until full incorporated.

  2. Spread half of peanut butter mixture into crust. Chill remaining half for piping around the edge of the pie before serving.

Chocolate Mousse Layer:

  1. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips to a mixing bowl. Bring 1 cup of the heavy cream to a simmer and pour over chips. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Allow the the heated heavy cream to sit on the chocolate chips for about two minutes. Mix well until all chips are melted and then add remaining cup of heavy cream. Whisk together well. Cover with Saran Wrap and let the mousse chill for at least two hours.

  2. Once chilled, beat until mixture begins to thicken. Add remaining three tablespoons of of instant white chocolate pudding mix. Beat for 2 minutes until mixture is thick and fluffy. Spread chocolate mousse evenly on top of peanut butter layer.

  3. Pipe a border around the edge of the pie using a dessert decorating tool.


Best if chilled overnight. Top with whipped cream before serving.
