For the Big Game last night, I made these strawberry lemon drop martinis and they were a hit. I added simple syrup to the recipe because since it isn't strawberry season and the strawberries that I used were not sweet at all. The simple syrup made all the difference and was the perfect addition to this cocktail. If you don't know how to make simple syrup, it is easy! You only need add one part water to one part sugar to a small saucepan and simmer until the sugar has melted. Let the simple syrup cool before you add it to your cocktail. You can store the leftover simple syrup in a mason jar of your refrigerator and use it for the next time you make a cocktail. This is a great cocktail that is also great to make ahead. You can make the strawberry puree and the simple syrup ahead of time to save some in making this cocktail especially if you are making them for a crowd. I hope you enjoy them as much I did!
